This is a RECCE M4 barrel purpose built specifically for Naval Special Warfare Development Group. This barrel is similar in construction to the old MK12, however these new RECCE barrels/uppers are purpose built off of a colt M4 lower, with an LMT 6 adjustable stock. The rifle upper consisted of a NF 2.5-10x MilDot Scope, a KAC 13″ Handguard, and a Lilja 16″ 3-groove barrel, with an OPS INC Suppressor, as seen in the attached photo.
OPS INC, is no longer in production, the KAC handguard has become increasingly difficult to source as well.
Ron Allen, with Allen Engineering has been making suppressors under that name, the AE22. Pictured is AE22, suppressor, thread adapter, and tightening collar.
The .223 version is chambered with a Wylde-type chamber. These barrels are threaded for and furnished with a pinned barrel extension with proper head space and the gas port hole drilled and an 11º target crown. We are milling a narrow flat on the bottom side of the gas port section for set screws used with some types of gas blocks. This prevents marring of the .750″ or .936″ diameter by the set screws and helps align the gas block with the gas port hole.
All current production drop-in barrels use an M4 style barrel extension. The front section of the barrel is engraved with “Lilja AR .223 8T RECCE”.
